One Just World

World Vision, in partnership with AusAID, the International Women’s Development Agency, and Griffith University, are holding a public forum in Brisbane on 12 April, which may be of interest to GLC staff and local teachers. I’ve attached a flyer for the event – we’d be grateful if you could distribute it through your networks.

The event will be held at the Queensland Conservatorium, Southbank, from 6.00-7.30pm on Tuesday 12 April (full details on the flyer). Entry is free.

The topic is “Turning the tide on health”, and considers global health issues, including the importance of health for social and economic development.

More information on the One Just World series can be found at the website: http://www.onejustworld.com.au/

All forums are filmed, and the video is available on-line. This may be of interest in particular to senior Geography teachers. Videos can be found by clicking the “Past Forums” tab, select topic area and forum title – the film clips are loaded in order, with a separate clip for each speaker. Speakers are experts in their fields, and include international guest speakers.

Forum topic areas include: climate change; disability and development; food and nutrition; gender equality; global health; human rights; international development; water and sanitation.
